I have two female cats and I want to get a kitten. I know that the cats I have will have a difficult time getting along with a new kitten as they have had a very sheltered existance! Either way we want a new kitty. What I want to know is will it be easier to bring in a female or a male kitten? I’m concerned about a male kitten marking his territory….
Any suggestions? missypee

In my somewhat limited experience bringing one or more kittens into an existing adult female cat’s territory, I have found it easier to incorporate a female kitten than a male. My adult females have always been considerably more hateful toward males of any age than toward other females.
